Classic games are awesome. Mario, Zelda, Mega Man, Centipede, Asteroids, etc all have a place in most gamers library. Remakes can bring a similar enjoyment while also exposing newer gamers to a taste of the classics. Great remakes can even bring a better gaming experience. That being said, let's talk about Death Worm.

Death worm for the iPhone is a remake. Actually, it is a pretty bad ass remake. But, let's go through the details before jumping to conclusions.

The first thing to notice is the graphics. To be honest, the main menu graphics are much better than the in game graphics. However, the in game graphics aren't terrible and gives it the retro look. For the iPhone, that is a good look.

The gameplay is pretty basic. You control a big worm that eats anything that moves. However, the basic elements allow you to make the game your own and it can get pretty addictive.

The game offers ultimate three game modes. The first is campaign. You try to get through to a set level and you beat the area. Survival lets you play until you die. Mini games were a pleasant surprise.

The one area where I am not to sure about is the power ups. This concept could be awesome but it is severely limited. You have two power ups, the fireball which  allows you to shoot a fire ball from your mouth which can kill your victims from a distance. Than, there is the Nitro which allows you to travel at super speeds. This power up is a lot of fun. Now, those are the only two. Which isn't bad but it does feel limited. Also, you can upgrade these abilities but the upgrades only extend or give you more.

Really, you can't go wrong with Death Worm. It is awesome! So naturally, I give this game a must play.
